Spiraea ulmaria
Meadowsweet brings such a calm and whimsical presence wherever they grow. Growing 4-6 feet tall and producing tons of large, delicious smelling flowers from July-September, she is one to try for sure! The flower shape and size attract very interesting polliators and the blooms are covered not only with bees but a whole host of other pollinators.
Start indoors in cool Spring weather if possible and transplant out in late Spring. The seed takes 14-18 days to germinate so don’t give up! They have naturally low germination so I include lots of seed.
